The whole thing is as a web app with the help of freer
Technologies(such as the React library), which make it possible to simulate a
Windows 11 desktop. In this way, the new user interface can also be tried out
on computers that are not supported because they do not meet Microsoft
requirements. The fixed language of the working environment is English.
When you visit the page, the principal thing you will see is

the only Blue Edge user account . To log in, leave the password field blank and
simply click on the arrow next to it.
You are then on the simulated one Desktopfrom Windows 11 and
see the About Windows window . It contains information on the Windows version
and build and reveals the working apps, i.e. which applications are functional,
in the bottom line. These include the calculator, online branding, Microsoft Edge, the Notepad
editor, the Windows Store and the command prompt.
You can also use the new start menu, search and the new

Other applications cannot be called up. For example, when

The best-known free solution in this area comes from the
development team around Alexander Finkhäuser and Nicklas Wiegandt. It is
available in binary versions: as a classic program (MediathekView), which is
installed on the computer, and as a server-side tool (MediathekViewWeb).

server-based solution, open the address "mediathekviewweb.de" in your
browser.
The latter does not require a download or installation, but
works in every browser. If you open the website mediathekviewweb.de , you can
start immediately. Simply enter keywords that are as meaningful as possible
about the program you want to watch in the search field above. The title and
topic are searched without any further filters. If you don't get to your
destination, activate the checkbox Everywhere . Then your terms will be
searched for in all fields.
Often, however, you have to use filters in order not to be
overwhelmed by the abundance of entries. The tool calls these filters selectors
. You will get an overview of this when you use themousePoint to the name of
the search field. With the exclamation mark, for example, you limit the search
to a specific station, while you limit the length of the contributions with the
larger and smaller symbols. For example, if you set ! Arte.de #Film> 120 as
criteria, programs appear on Arte that correspond to the film category and last
more than two hours.
After you have found the program you want, take the mousevia
the video symbol next to it. A menu then opens in which various actions can be
selected. Click on the disk representation to download the video in the desired
quality. Not all browsers support this, however. Firefox, for example, then
only plays the program. Fashionable this case, right-click the icon and select
Save target as in the context menu .
Please note that contributions from ORF and SRF in
MediathekViewWeb are only downloaded as m3u8 files. These are not videos for
offline viewing, but HLS streams that you can only play back through the
website.
